US State Department Demands Crackdown on Metal Detector Use in Yurope

.
The US has decided to get tough with metal detecting, in other countries. The amended Cyprus MOU contains the clause (added to the existing demands of the US before it will deign to do its part under the 1970 UNESCO Convention to help stop the flow of illicit antiquities from the Island):
"The Government of the Republic of Cyprus will use its best efforts to enforce applicable laws and regulations regarding the use of metal detectors."
Does the Cyprus Metal Detecting Society know their days are numbered? Obey Uncle Sam.

When are the US going to get tougher on their own artefact hunters?
